PCA Baseball Team Crushes Hillcrest to Earn Their First Win; St. Al and WC Fell Short

Vicksburg, Miss.-Porter’s Chapel Academy baseball team picked up their first win of the season on Thursday against Hillcrest Christian. The Eagles won 16-6 in five innings as they quickly run-ruled their opponent.

PCA earned two runs in the first inning, one from an error and another after a single from Cameron Potter. By the end of the second, PCA had a 5-0 lead when Landon McCollough and Chad Fuson both hit RBIs.

Hillcrest earned their first runs in the third inning to put the score at 5-3 but PCA also added two more runs to their lead and went up 7-3. The Eagles’ most profitable inning was in the fourth when they grabbed seven runs as Grayson Price, Carson Hays, Fuson, and Hunter Simms all hit RBIs as they went up 14-6.

McCollough and Evan Gordan hit the final two RBIs to put the game away.

Gordan went 2 for 3 with one RBI while McCollough(2 RBIs), Potter(1 RBI), Simms(1 RBI), and Fuson(1 RBI) each had one hit. Hays had one RBI.

Fuson struck out 13 batters in the win. 

St. Aloysius:

The Flashes took a 9-5 loss to Prairie View Academy. Pierson Smith, Sadler Lambiotte, Laken Bradley, Robert Lee, William Roberson, and Carson Smith each had a hit. Clark Hobson hit an RBI. Carson Smith struck out four batters and Hobson struck out two.

Warren Central:

Warren Central took an 8-0 loss to Madison Central. Hayes Loper came out with two hits and Trace Hood finished with one. Justin Greer struck out five batters and Caden Cole struck out two.
