VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Mississippi held its Primary Elections for the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives Tuesday, March 10.

The preliminary results began rolling in Tuesday evening with big wins for some seats.

In the Republican Senate race incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith had a resounding victory over challenger Sarah Adlakha.

Scott Colom took the Democratic win for Senate beating out Priscilla Till and Albert Little.

For the District 1 House of Representatives seat, Republican incumbent Trent Kelly had no challengers. On the Democratic side of the aisle, Cliff Johnson took the majority vote over Kelvin Buck.

The District 2 house seat long held by Democratic Bennie Thompson resulted in Thompson’s defeat over challengers Evan Turnage and Pertis Williams.

Republican candidates Kevin Wilson and Ron Eller were too close to call at the time of this publication. The winner will face Thompson is the November General Election.

Both parties in the District 3 race were uncontested. Republican incumbent Michael Guest will face Michael Chiaradio in November.

Incumbent Republican Mike Ezell took the majority of votes against Sawyer Walters in the District 4 House race. The Democratic winner was Jeffrey Hulum who beat Paul Blackman and D. Ryan Grover.

The General Election will be held Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
