Rick Daughtry named Special Olympics Coach of the Year
Vicksburg Special Olympics Coach Rick Daughtry has been named Coach of the Year by the State Special Olympics Committee.
In a post on social media, Coach Daughtry, and father of AJ said, “Well I got a big surprise tonight at Special Olympics Summer Games Opening Ceremony at Keesler AF. I won Coach of the Year. I am Honored to win this award and was really surprised . But I owe it all to the athletes I coach and help. If you have never had chance to volunteer your time helping with any Special Olympic event you are missing out. I love working with them all and the organization .Area 10 River City y’all are family and you ROCK. I am HONORED.”

When Daughtry is not coaching he is in charge of the Department of Recreation for the City of Vicksburg.
