Schools reopen tomorrow

Honors program will be held

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg Intermediate School and Dana Road Elementary School will be back in session tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 16.

In a press release, today, Wednesday, Oct. 15, Vicksburg Warren School District said repair work on a busted water line has been completed and the schools will reopen after being canceled for a day.

According to the release, both district and city crews worked to complete the repairs and water service has been fully repaired to both schools.

The district also thanked families, staff, and the community for their patience and understanding during the closure.

Honors program

Vicksburg Intermediate School will hold an Awards Day program Thursday, Oct. 16. The program was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 15, but was forced to reschedule due to the school closure resulting from a water line break.

The program will include a “Perfect Score” banner unveiling beginning at 8:15 a.m. and an awards day presentation following at 9 a.m. located inside the school gymnasium.
