Sean Simpson takes over as Head Girls’ Basketball Coach at St. Aloysius
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Sean Simpson, a graduate of St. Aloysius Class of 2019 has returned home. St. Aloysius has promoted Sean Simpson as their new head Girl’s Basketball Coach. In addition to leading the varsity program, Coach Simpson will continue to oversee JV Girls Basketball team. Coach Walter Hallburg IV will continue coaching the JV and Varsity Boys Basketball Teams.
Coach Simpson finished out his first year as the JV Girls Basketball Coach with a 13-10 season. “Sean has been an asset to our basketball program while assisting Coach Hallberg these past four years. We were excited when he took on the responsibilities as the Head Coach for the JV Girls Basketball Team last year. This move to coach both JV and Varsity will allow him to strengthen alignment and develop across all levels of the program” Saint Aloysius Athletic Director Allison McSherry said.
“I love being able to give back to a school that gave me so much. I look forward to taking the girls’ basketball program to the next level,” Simpson said.
“Coach Simpson’s transition reflects St. Aloysius’ commitment to stability within the program and a unified vision for athletic development. By leading both teams, Coach Simpson will ensure consistency in coaching philosophy, player expectations, and preparation for athletes progressing to the varsity level,” Dawn Meeks, St. Aloysius High School Principal.
St. Aloysius looks forward to the continued growth and success of the girls basketball program under Coach Simpson’s leadership.
