Sharkey County’s Jeremiah Johnson declares for 2026 NFL Draft
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —Jeremiah Johnson, a Sharkey County native, has announced that he will enter the 2026 NFL Draft. He made the announcement last week on his social media page.
“I want to start by thanking God for His countless blessings in my life,” the post read. “Without His guidance and strength, none of this would be possible.
“I am incredibly grateful for my family and friends, whose support has played a huge role throughout my journey. Your encouragement has fueled my passion and determination to continue to do what I love.
“To my teammates at MDCC, Georgia State and NC State: thank you for the unforgettable moments, the hard work and the brotherhood we’ve built. Each of you has played a significant role in molding me both as a player and a person.
“A big thank you to my coaches for your mentorship and belief in my potential. Your dedication and wisdom have prepared me for this next chapter, and I will carry those lessons with me forever.
“Lastly, to the fans: your support has been a driving force behind every game and every practice. I appreciate each and every one of you for cheering us on and making this journey so special.
“I’m excited and blessed to have this opportunity to take the next step in my career, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds.
“With that being said, I will be declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft.”
Johnson most recently played at North Carolina State after spending three seasons at Georgia State. He recorded 150 tackles, nine pass deflections and two interceptions during his college career.
Johnson is a graduate of South Delta High School.
