Skywarn storm spotter training happening April 21 in Vicksburg

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg Amateur Radio Club is inviting the community to a free Skywarn storm spotter training session on Monday, April 21, at Goldie’s Trail Bar-B-Que, located at 2430 S. Frontage Road.
The evening will begin with a short club meeting at 6 p.m., with a training session to follow. Attendees who wish to eat beforehand are welcome to arrive as early as 5 p.m. and purchase dinner on their own, as meals will not be provided by the club.
Mike Hill from the National Weather Service will lead the Skywarn storm spotter training session, which is designed for anyone who wants to learn how to identify and report severe weather such as tornadoes, hail, and strong winds. These reports help meteorologists issue timely warnings and keep communities safe.
