NATCHEZ, Miss.(VDN)—St. Aloysius High School suffered its first softball loss of the season Friday night, falling 12-2 to Cathedral.

Despite the setback, Ruthie Britton provided a bright spot for the Lady Flashes by hitting her first home run of the season. Britton and Kennadi Blassingame each finished with two hits, while Blassingame and Megan Theriot both hit doubles. Presley Brister and Theriot each added a hit.

St. Al dropped to 3-1 on the season and will hit the road next week with games Monday at Copiah Academy and Tuesday at Jackson Victors. The Lady Flashes will host their home tournament on Saturday.

Porter’s Chapel Academy also endured a tough loss Friday, falling 15-0 to Clinton Christian Academy. Lauren Rae Davis recorded the Lady Eagles’ lone hit with a single.

PCA will return to action Monday with a home game against Madison St. Joseph. They will travel to play Park Place Academy on Tuesday and host Jackson Victors on Thursday before playing Manchester and Tallulah Academy on Saturday in the St. Aloysius Jamboree.
