St. Aloysius Shows Strength at MRA Team Camp

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN)—The St. Aloysius boys’ basketball program put together an impressive showing at the Madison-Ridgeland Academy Team Camp last week, going a combined 7-4 between its junior varsity and varsity squads.
Held June 23-25, the Flashes played 11 games in three days and notched wins over Jackson Academy JV, Lamar Christian, Central Holmes, Carroll Academy, Amite School, and the MRA JV team twice.
Leading the charge for St. Al were returning standouts Carson Gleese and Carson Henderson, both of whom made the All-District Team last season. Gleese was named The Vicksburg Daily News’ Co-MVP after averaging over 18 points per game during the 2023-24 season. Henderson contributed with averages of 7 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per contest. Both were also selected to the VDN All-County Team.
The Flashes, under the direction of Head Coach Walter Hallberg IV, finished last season with a 14-10 record and return the majority of their starting lineup. This year’s senior class includes Gleese, Henderson, Carter Henderson, Sadler Lambiotte, and Tre Lee.
With strong veteran leadership and a productive summer showing, St. Aloysius appears poised to build on last year’s success heading into the 2025-2026 season. The official high school basketball season will begin later this year.
