Amite School Center defeats the Flashes 26-13

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN)St. Aloysius High School dropped its homecoming game Friday, falling 26-13 to Amite School Center.

The Flashes struck first when quarterback Sadler Lambiotte connected with Walt Andrews for a 62-yard touchdown on the opening drive. Carter Smithhart added the extra point to give St. Aloysius a 7-0 lead. The Rebels answered with a touchdown and a two-point conversion to take an 8-7 edge late in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Garrod Bunch broke loose for a long touchdown run to put the Flashes back on top, 13-8. Just before halftime, Amite regained the lead on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Zane Minton.

The Rebels added two more scores in the second half, including a 55-yard touchdown on a tipped pass.

Keller Bradley and Cole Nolan led the St. Aloysius defense with nine tackles each. Beau Brogdon added eight tackles and a sack.

St. Aloysius (3-3) will be off next week before traveling to Washington School on Oct. 10.
