Warren Central Junior High earned a 44-7 homecoming win against Pearl
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Warren Central Junior High School celebrated homecoming with a dominant 44-7 win on Tuesday night.
The Vikings, coached by Louis Green, delivered a balanced offensive attack and a stingy defense to improve their momentum ahead of next week’s rivalry game against Vicksburg Junior High.
Quarterback Jaydon Green led the charge, throwing two touchdown passes and adding a two-point conversion on the ground. Ja’kobi Whitaker contributed both a rushing and a receiving touchdown, while tight end Micheal Banks Jr. matched the feat with one rushing and one receiving score. Andrew Patten added two rushing touchdowns and also anchored the defense with eight tackles. Demetrius Clark chipped in another rushing touchdown.
On defense, Mike Davis recorded an interception to halt a potential drive for the Pirates
The Vikings will face crosstown rival Vicksburg Junior High next Tuesday. The two teams haven’t faced each other since the 2024 season and will play for a year’s worth of bragging rights on Tuesday. The Gators and Vikings will both play each other at Vicksburg High School where kickoff begins at 6 p.m. The Gators are led by Head Coach Larry Carter Jr. They took an 8-0 loss to Madison Middle School on Tuesday.
