St. Aloysius splits Monday games, falls to Washington Academy before beating Bayou Academy

VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN) — The St. Aloysius baseball team split a pair of games Monday, falling to Washington Academy 8-7 before bouncing back with a 7-4 victory over Bayou Academy.

In the opener against Washington Academy, Walt Andrews led the Flashes at the plate by going 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Keller Bradley finished 2 for 3 with a double and one RBI.

Pierson Smith recorded one hit and one RBI, while Sadler Lambiotte, Robert Lee and Mason Bourne each added a hit. Max Hargrave and William Roberson both drove in a run.

On the mound, Cohen Coomes and Emerson Blackburn each struck out one batter.

St. Aloysius rebounded in the second game with a 7-4 win over Bayou Academy. Coomes had a perfect day at the plate, going 3 for 3 with two RBIs. Hargrave went 2 for 3 with one RBI, while Lambiotte collected one hit and Andrews added an RBI.

Hargrave also delivered a strong performance on the mound, striking out seven batters in the victory.

The Flashes will return to action Tuesday when they face Picayune.
