Later on in the game, Zion Harvey smashed a double that added two more runs. Saltillo brought in some late runs to steal the win that ended the Missy Gators’ season. Harvey went 2 for 4 with two RBIs while Lili Kister and Dunmore both finished with two hits. Harmony Harris had one hit.

The Missy Gators is under the leadership of first-year Head Coach Briana Knox. They finished the season 6-20 with a young roster where multiple young players stepped up, including seventh graders.

VHS will not graduate any seniors and will return their full roster where Knox mentioned that big things are coming for the VHS softball program.

“We still bringing the same discipline next year and I’m expecting us to go much further,” Knox said. We’re coming bigger and better and we’re going to get into early conditioning.”

Knox was named Head Coach back in September and led VHS to wins over teams such as Columbus, Ridgeland, and Yazoo County.
