Vicksburg High School took a 20-6 loss to Holmes County Central in the Red Carpet Bowl on Friday.

The Jaguars got on the board twice in the first quarter from their first two possessions. Once from a 22-yard pass and an 83-yard pass as they went up 13-0. On the next drive, Cedric Blackmore came out running the ball hard. Jamikal Maxey threw a 20-yard touchdown to Decorey Knight Jr. but it was taken away due to a holding penalty.

The Gators eventually settled on a 25-yard field goal by Abel Gonzalez to put the score at 13-3. By halftime, Gonzalez hit a 27-yard field goal as the score sat at 13-6.

Coming out of halftime neither team got on the board. Blackmore made some swift moves to gain some yards but VHS never found their way into the end zone. The Jaguars made their way into Gator territory but a fumble prevented them from scoring.

Later on in the fourth, Holmes County caught a 10-yard touchdown for the final score with a 20-6 final.

The Gators will travel to play Forest Hill next Friday.
