VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Vicksburg High School volleyball team cruised past Natchez in straight sets Tuesday, winning 25-11, 25-12, 25-12 in the varsity match.

Jada Erwin led the Missy Gators with eight points, while Amari Johnson had eight points, two digs and one ace. Jermeria Wright added 12 points and three aces, and Teagan Stewart finished with 15 points. Other contributors included Jakayla Hampton (two points, one ace), Saudia Stewart (four points), Jamiya Steward (five points, one dig) and Devine Tulloch (three points, one dig).

“To be honest it was an easy win because the girls came out and did what they needed to do,” VHS head coach Linda Johnson said. “This was not a district game so there’s more work we need to do. We should never underestimate anybody.”

The junior varsity team also claimed a victory, winning 2-1 with set scores of 25-8, 22-25, 15-13. Alaina Williams led with 13 points and four aces while Harmony Harris contributed with 11 points and one ace.
