Vicksburg Man Found Deceased on 61 South

Vicksburg, Miss. – A Vicksburg man was found deceased in his vehicle Saturday morning on 61 South.

According to the Vicksburg Police Department, units were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision with injuries. The vehicle was discovered near 5525 Highway 61 South at around 4:14 a.m. Upon arrival, officers observed minor damage to a vehicle and a white male in the driver’s seat. He was unresponsive.

It’s suspected that he became unconscious while driving, and his vehicle left the roadway. It then struck a light pole anchor cable. Medical units were unable to revive the individual, who was declared deceased at the scene by Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey stated he did not believe the victim had any injuries from the accident but has sent the body for autopsy to confirm the cause of death. Huskey identified 24-year-old Jamison Friley as the victim of the early morning incident.
