VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Vicksburg native and rapper Alec Bailey, known by his stage name Lil Bailey, is making waves in the music industry with his latest single, “Where You At.” The track, a remix of R. Kelly’s classic hit “I’m a Flirt,” has exploded on social media, racking up over five million views across multiple platforms.

Lil Bailey, known for his raw freestyles and charismatic presence, has been steadily building a name for himself by rapping over some of the hardest-hitting beats. His unique style and authenticity are gaining recognition far beyond his Mississippi roots.

“It kinda hit different seeing people liking my song so much,” Bailey said. “Not many people get noticed in the rap game from Vicksburg, but it keeps me motivated knowing that I got the weight of the city on my shoulder.”

The buzz started when Bailey posted a video of his performance of “Where You At.” The popular media outlet The Debut reposted it to Facebook, where it amassed over 1.5 million views. The same video earned an additional 1.1 million views on Instagram and another half a million on TikTok.

“Someone actually asked me to do the song, and I liked the beat, so I went for it,” he said. “I had no clue it would go viral.”

Currently signed with Alamo Distribution Record Label, Bailey released his first album, Lil Bailey – Before I Blow, in December. He is now working on a follow-up project under the same label.

In addition to his solo success, Bailey recently launched a regional movement called “NewMississippi.” The initiative unites artists from Vicksburg and surrounding areas to promote positivity, collaboration, and empowerment among youth through music.

Bailey is a 2018 graduate of Vicksburg High School and also played football at Alcorn State University, where he earned his Master’s degree in Business.
