VJHS defeated Byram 36-30; Freshmen fell short to Terry

Vicksburg, Ms-Vicksburg Junior High School girls’ basketball team defeated Byram Middle School 36-30 at home on Monday.

Madisyn Kimble hit two 3-pointers in the first quarter while Aaliyah Mims put a few points on the board. By halftime, the Missy Gators were up 21-20 as Alaina Williams hit two shots.

Kimble took over the show after halftime along with Mims and Williams who all contributed points.

Mims led with 13 points and Kimble finished with 11 points. Williams scored 10 points while Keasia Hatchett and Kerion Cooper both scored two points. 

Ninth Grade Girls:

The Missy Gators took a close 30-26 loss to Terry High School. Zion Knox led VHS with 10 points and Jariah Williams added six. Layla Johnson had five points and Jaleia Irvine scored four points.

The freshmen team will host Warren Central on Thursday.
