VJHS defeated Northwest Rankin 28-6 on Tuesday

Vicksburg Junior High School football team defeated Northwest Rankin 28-6 on Tuesday night.

Deonta Selvy Jr. took the snaps at quarterback where he hit Corbin Walker for a 65-yard touchdown pass. He also ran for a 6-yard score and threw a 2-point conversion to Jaylen Stewart. Javid Scott also scored a touchdown from the goal line and Rico Thomas broke out for a 45-yard score.

Defensively, the Gators forced four fumbles as Kolten Thomas recovered one. Messiah Sims and Jalen Bulter each had five tackles and Walker and Jamari Johnson both had four.

7th grade:

The seventh grade team won 7-0 as Daylon Washington scored off a 56-yard toss sweep. Antonine Chiplin also had a 50-yard run and a big tackle on the 7-yard line.
