VJHS knocked off Ridgeland 24-8 on Tuesday
VICKSBURG, MS – Vicksburg Junior High School (VJHS) football team came away with a 24-8 win over Ridgeland on Tuesday night.
Quarterback Rico Thomas had a great game as he rushed for two touchdowns and also threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Daylon Atkins. Clyde Mazie had three receptions, 33 receiving yards, and a successful two-point conversion.
Defensively, VJHS had a great night as Brandon Smith led with six tackles and two tackles for loss. Atkins also caught an interception.
VJHS is led by Head Coach Larry Carter Jr, who is in his 17th year as the head coach. The Gators are now 4-1 and will face Warren Central Junior High on Tuesday.
