VHS Freshmen Football Team Shutout Ridgeland 21-0
VICKSBURG, MS. – The Vicksburg High School (VHS) Freshmen football team improved to 4-1 after shutting out Ridgeland 21-0 on Thursday.
The Gators got on the board on the first kickoff return when Jaquez Jones ran for a 75-yard touchdown. In the second quarter, VHS got on the board again after Corbin Walker picked up 30 yards from a punt return which set up a 25-yard touchdown run by Jones. By halftime the Gators had a 15-0 lead.
In the third quarter, Jayden Stewart picked up some good rushing yards along with catching a 13-yard pass from T.J. Selvy. A few plays later, Jones ran in a two-yard touchdown.
The game was eventually called in the third quarter due to lightning. Jaylen Butler and Deveyon Beard both had multiple tackles.
The VHS Freshmen football team will face Warren Central next Tuesday.
