It’s officially rivalry week in the River City as Vicksburg High School prepares to host crosstown rival Warren Central on Friday night in the 2026 Red Carpet Bowl.
The Gators and Vikings will go toe-to-toe with a year’s worth of bragging rights on the line in one of Vicksburg’s biggest annual sporting events.
Warren Central enters the matchup riding a 14-game winning streak against Vicksburg, a run that dates back to 2012. The Vikings won last year’s meeting 34-15.
Both teams are coming off road games. Warren Central defeated Germantown 42-35 to remain undefeated at 3-0, while Vicksburg suffered a 34-24 loss to Ridgeland and enters rivalry week at 0-3 while still searching for its first victory of the season.
The Vikings are led by head coach Josh Morgan, who is in his 17th season at Warren Central. Christopher Lacey is in his fourth season as Vicksburg’s head coach.
Warren Central will look to extend its winning streak in the rivalry, while Vicksburg will have an opportunity to snap the streak on its home field.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Vicksburg High School.
