MSU defeats Minnesota 38-13
Mississippi State secured a decisive 38-13 victory over Minnesota, with standout performances from Kamario Taylor and Fluff Bothwell. The Bulldogs built an early lead and maintained control throughout the game, setting the stage for their upcoming SEC matchup.

Mississippi State built itself a big early lead and didn’t let up as the Bulldogs rolled to a 38-13 win at Minnesota. Kamario Taylor passed for 227 yards and three touchdowns, plus rushed for 86 yards for MSU, while Fluff Bothwell carried the rock for 113 yards and two State scores and Anthony Evans III had 121 yards receiving with a touchdown.

1st Quarter
13:12 – The Bulldogs were off and running early. Kamario Taylor hit Zion Ragins on a 22-yard touchdown pass to give State a 7-0 lead.
0:22 – After Minnesota got on the board with a field goal, MSU immediately answered with a 75-yard drive capped by a Fluff Bothwell touchdown run from five yards out to make it 14-3 in favor of State.
2nd Quarter
11:27 – The Bulldogs kept the pressure on the Golden Gophers. Taylor added another touchdown pass, this one a 30-yard strike to Sanfrisco Magee, to put MSU up 21-3.
4:32 – State’s early momentum grew. Taylor got his third touchdown pass by connecting with Anthony Evans III from 15 yards out to give the Bulldogs a 28-3 lead.
Minnesota added on a field goal in the closing seconds of the second quarter, but State carried a 28-6 lead into the locker room at halftime.
3rd Quarter
9:53 – Minnesota struck first in the second half as the Golden Gophers recovered an MSU fumble in the end zone to cut State’s advantage to 28-13, but the Bulldogs quickly got three points back on Kyle Ferrie’s 52-yard field goal. Ferrie’s kick made it 31-13 MSU.
4th Quarter
12:32 – Mississippi State put together a 10-play, 96-yard drive to take complete control. Bothwell polished it off with a 3-yard touchdown run for his second score of the day as the Bulldogs stretched their lead to 38-13.
