WCJHS Volleyball Team Defeated VJHS on Thursday

Vicksburg, MS – The Warren Central Junior High School (WCJHS) volleyball teams had reason to celebrate Thursday night after both their seventh and eighth-grade squads secured decisive victories over Vicksburg Junior High School. It was a strong showing from the Lady Vikes, who dominated the court and demonstrated impressive teamwork throughout the evening.

The Lady Vikes eighth graders took home the win in two sets with scores of 25-8 and 25-11. Carly Hicks and KK Williamson both led with 10 points and two aces each. Kynleigh Tedder finished the 25-8 win with nine points to keep WCJHS ahead. 

In the 25-11 game two victories, Tedder had four kills while Avery Hern finished with five points and two aces. Shyah Lott led the Lady Vikes with seven points. 

WCJH’s seventh graders won 28-26 and 25-11 as they were the first to hit the volleyball court. In the first win, Skyla Cosby and Katie Warnock both had seven points and two aces. In set two, Raegan Dean contributed seven points and Laney Bennett had five. Cosby also had four points.

Assistant Coach Sonya Washington led the team last night due to Head Coach LaToya Lumpkin being out on a family emergency.
