Vicksburg, MS-Warren Central High School Basketball Head Coach Heather Casey has added two assistant coaches to her staff. Jessolyn Farmer and Eric Lawson are the Lady Vikes new assistant coaches who will be assisting Casey this season.

Jessolyn Farmer:

Farmer will serve as Assistant Head Coach and Head Ninth Grade Coach. She spent the last three years as a volunteer coach at Warren Central Junior High School.

“I’ve been watching her work with these junior high girls and I saw a lot of potential in someone who really wanted to do it because anyone who does anything for free is a person that’s passionate,” Casey said. “I think she does a great job with the girls and we make a good team.”

Farmer is a 2014 graduate of WCHS where she played basketball. She went on to graduate from Alcorn State University.

Eric Lawson:

Lawson is the new assistant coach and head junior varsity coach. He has been assisting with the junior high football and basketball team for the last six years. Lawson also recently helped WCJHS to a Little Six Championship earlier this month.

“He’s really energetic and personal with the girls,” Casey said. “Lawson loves to teach and takes the time to correct the small things that I don’t see and he’s great for this program.”

Lawson played basketball at South Panola High School and graduated from Tougaloo College.

The official basketball season will begin on November 5th as WC will travel to face Germantown High School. The 2024-2025 season mark Coach Casey’s first year as Head Basketball Coach. As of now “senior night” is scheduled for January 31 when the Vikings host Neshoba Central.
