You’re a daisy if you do: Tombstone and free popcorn at the Strand

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A newly restored version of the 1993 Western classic Tombstone will be screened at The Strand Theatre Saturday, May 17, at 7 p.m.
The screening comes just weeks after the passing of actor Val Kilmer on April 1, whose performance as Doc Holliday remains one of the film’s most memorable elements. Kilmer’s portrayal, filled with sardonic wit and intensity, delivered many of the film’s most quoted lines, including “I’m your huckleberry” and “You’re a daisy if you do.”
Directed by George P. Cosmatos, Tombstone is a retelling of the legendary gunfight at the O.K. Corral between the Earp brothers and the Clanton gang in 1881 Tombstone, Arizona. While several films have tackled the story, Tombstone is a stand out with its stylized dialogue and ensemble cast.
The film stars Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp, with Kilmer as Holliday. Rounding out the cast are Sam Elliott, Michael Biehn, Bill Paxton, Dana Delany, Jason Priestley and Powers Boothe.
Tickets are available in advance for $9 at Highway 61 Coffeehouse and will be $10 at the door. As always, popcorn is free.
For more information, contact Highway 61 Coffeehouse. The Strand Theatre is located at 717 Clay Street in downtown Vicksburg.
