VICKSBURG, Miss.(VDN)—The 601 Bulls AAU basketball team continued their impressive run last weekend by winning the second annual High Stakes Showdown in Biloxi, Mississippi. The team went undefeated, finishing 4-0 and dominating three of their four opponents by double digits.

In tournament play, the 601 Bulls defeated Coastal Elite twice—first 37-24 and again 40-32 in a rematch. They also claimed victories over EAD Alabama Boys (35-31) and MHoops (52-34).

Head Coach Sherman Logan praised his team’s effort and consistency throughout the weekend.

“Our guys have been locked in,” Logan said. “We’ve talked all season about staying disciplined and playing our brand of basketball. To come down to Biloxi and go 4-0—it speaks to their work ethic.”

Logan also emphasized the team’s chemistry and growth.

“Every tournament we play in, these kids get better,” he said. “They’re learning to trust each other more and compete no matter who’s in front of them. I always tell them—play hard, play together, have fun, and most importantly—win.”

Last month, the 601 Bulls also captured the championship at the HoopFest Tournament in Jackson. There, they went undefeated against a tough bracket of 12 teams, including a pair of wins over the then No. 3 ranked team in the state, Mavs Elite.

After back-to-back tournament wins, the Bulls will turn their attention to upcoming events. They’ll compete in the Circuit City of Champions tournament in Ruston, Louisiana where they’ll look to keep their winning streak alive.

“We’re not done yet,” Logan said. “We’re just getting started.”
