8 Members of WC’s Football Team Signed Collegiate Scholarships on Wednesday

Vicksburg, Miss.-Five Warren Central High School football players signed collegiate scholarships and three others signed to be collegiate managers. Gavin Davenport, Spencer Smith, Maddox Lynch, Ronnie Blossom, and Larry Reynolds Jr. will all play football on the next level while Shondaric Judge, Ke’Sean Smith, and Don Taylor will become managers for their schools.

The Vikings went 9-4 in 2024 under Head Coach Josh Morgan where the Vikings went to the North State Championship for the first time in 30 years.
Offensive Player: Maddox Lynch and Spencer Smith:
Lynch and Smith both impacted WC’s offense in a positive way.
Smith:
Smith, the starting center, blocked his way to success. He quickly earned All-District Honors as he paved the way for 2,461 rushing yards and 1,413 passing yards.

Smith chose the University of Central Arkansas as his next destination to play football.
“The people up there were all great so I believe I made the right decision,” Smith said. “I want to thank all my coaches and family but most importantly, God.”
One of Smith’s best performances was against Saltillo in the playoffs where he controlled the line of scrimmage in the playoff win.
Maddox Lynch
Maddox Lynch became a bulldozing tight end as soon as hit varsity in his sophomore year. A few years later he became a record-breaking athlete as he is now WC’s All-Time reception and receiving yards leader with 105 receptions and 1,358 receiving yards.
Lynch was also the District Most Outstanding Tight End and was selected to play in the Mississippi vs. Alabama All-Star Game. He chose the University of South Alabama where he will play on the next level.

“It felt like home and I liked what I saw down there so I did what was best for me,” Lynch said. “My family, Coaches, and God are who I have to thank because they’ve always been there for me.”
Lynch recalls that one of his best performances was against Oak Grove in his sophomore year when he caught the game-winning touchdown and 2-point conversion.
Defensive Players: Blossom, Reynolds and Gavin Davenport:
Ronnie Blossom led the Vikings’ defense in tackles this season 107 on the year. He also had 26 tackles for loss and 10 sacks as he was named the District Co-Defensive MVP.

All season long Blossom had a certain strive for excellence that made him a great athlete. His skills caught the eyes of Arkansas State University which is where he chose to play football.
“It was a family environment and I wanted to go where it felt like home,” Blossom said. “I have to thank my mom for it all because she’s been there since day one.”
Blossom chose Arkansas State over other offers such as South Alabama, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Central Arkansas along with a host of Junior College offers.
LJ Reynolds:
Reynolds is another recorder-breaker for WC as he grabbed 13.5 sacks in 2024. He also had 90 tackles, and 41 tackles for loss as he is now WC’s All-Time sack leader while also earning the District Defensive MVP Award.
After receiving offers from schools like Mississippi Valley State and Grambling State, Reynolds chose to take his talents to Holmes Community College.

“I went on multiple visits but Holmes felt like a true home,” Reynolds said. “I want to thank all my family and support who stuck with me throughout this journey.”
Reynolds will join a few other local players who have also signed with Holmes today.
Gavin Davenport:
Gavin Davenport had a productive year on the defensive side of the ball for WC as he brought in 80 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, and 4 sacks. He also won the District Most Outstanding Linebacker Award.

Davenport chose to sign with East Central CC.
“I felt like it’s a good school and they had seven linebackers leaving so my chances of playing are great,” Davenport said. “I want to thank God first, then my parents and coaches for helping me get this opportunity because playing football is not promised to everyone.”
Managers: Ke’Sean Smith, Shondaric Judge and Donovan Taylor:

Smith chose to sign with Hinds as a manager for the football team.

Taylor also chose Hinds as well while Judge will join a few of his teammates at Holmes CC.
