Alcorn releases softball schedule
Story from Alcorn Athletics:
LORMAN, Miss. – Head Coach Eugenia Fernandez and the Alcorn State University softball team has a rigorous 2024 schedule lined up. The Lady Braves look to make some noise in the Southwestern Athletic Conference after an overall record of 19-30 and going 11-13 in conference play.
Alcorn opens the season in the River City Classic from Feb. 9 – 11 in neighboring Vicksburg, Miss. against teams such as Arlington Baptist University and Xavier University of Louisiana. The Lady Braves move on to a doubleheader with the University of Louisiana at Monroe on Feb. 14 starting at 4 p.m.
ASU will also compete in the HBCU Invitational from Feb. 16 – 18 in Covington, Ga. The Lady Braves will go head to head with the likes of Tuskegee University and conference opponents such as Florida A&M University. The team’s next challenge will be in the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Mississippi State University from March 1 – 3.
SWAC play will begin for Alcorn at home against Grambling State University on March 8 at 4 p.m. and will close league play against the Tigers in a doubleheader on Apr. 27.
