Story from Hinds CC Athletics
Hinds Community College Athletics has announced the promotion of Head Men’s Basketball Coach Jonathan Nevolto Assistant Athletic Director, where he will take on additional leadership responsibilities within the department while continuing in his role as Head Coach of the Hinds Community College Men’s Basketball program.

In his new position, Nevol will assist with athletic operations on the Utica Campus, helping oversee event management and game-day operations while also working alongside department leadership in compliance efforts. His expanded role will allow him to contribute to the overall success of Hinds Athletics while continuing to lead the men’s basketball program.

Since arriving at Hinds, Nevol has helped elevate the men’s basketball program through his commitment to student-athlete development, competitive success, and fostering a strong culture on and off the court. His leadership and dedication have made a lasting impact across the department, making him a natural fit for an administrative role.

Hinds Athletic Director Nathan Werremeyerstated, “Jon has done a tremendous job with our men’s basketball program, and this is a well-deserved opportunity for him. I’m excited to see him continue the momentum on the court while also bringing his leadership and perspective into a larger administrative role within the athletic department to better prepare him for his future.”

“Hinds has been a place where I’ve grown not only as a coach, but as a person,” Nevol said. “The relationships I’ve built with our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and community have made my time here truly special. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Assistant Athletic Director and help lead Hinds Athletics into the future. Thank you to everyone who has poured into me throughout this journey and entrusted me with this opportunity. I’m proud to call Hinds home and excited for what’s ahead.”

As Assistant Athletic Director, Nevol will play a key role in enhancing operations on the Utica Campus while continuing to guide the men’s basketball program into its next chapter. Hinds Athletics is excited for the impact he will make in both capacities and looks forward to his continued leadership across the department.
