Warren Central names Davis, Jones, Riley as Vikettes dance team captains

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —

Tiara Davis, Keonna Jones and Za’Miya Riley have been selected as captains of the Warren Central High School Vikettes Dance Team for the upcoming season.

Davis and Riley will serve as head captains, while Jones was named co-captain. The trio will lead the Vikettes under head coach Jade Bell, who is entering her second year with the program.

The Vikettes are coming off a successful season that included performing throughout Warren Central’s 2025 football state championship run.

After serving as co-captain last season, Davis earned a promotion to head captain through years of dedication to the program.

“I love it so much and I worked so hard for it,” Davis said.

Now a senior, Davis said she hopes to help guide a young team by building confidence and strong relationships among her teammates.

“I plan on building a bond with them and encourage them to be confident in themselves and dance,” she said.

Following graduation, Davis hopes to attend Southern A&M and major in psychology.

She is the daughter of Terrell and Tanisha Davis.

Keonna Jones

Jones is stepping into a leadership role for the first time after being selected as co-captain.

“This is a good experience and I love all the girls on the team,” Jones said.

Although she is only a sophomore, Jones said she plans to bring fresh ideas to the team while creating a positive atmosphere that will help everyone continue to improve.

She is the daughter of Kamirah Brown and Dmitri Jones.

Za’Miya Riley

Riley returns as a captain for the third consecutive year and said she is thankful for another opportunity to lead the Vikettes.

“I feel grateful to be chosen three years in a row and I’m going to push my team and see what the season brings,” Riley said.

The senior said she plans to keep the team focused on the positives while encouraging and uplifting her teammates throughout the season.

Riley hopes to attend either Tuskegee Institute or Mississippi Valley State University after graduation, where she plans to continue dancing while majoring in social work.

She said dance has become an escape for her as she prepares for her final season with the Vikettes.

Riley is the daughter of Portia Thompson and George Riley.
