VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
This summer, health and wellness take on a whole new meaning with the return of the “Let’s Get Ready For Your Adventure” Health Fair — a high-energy, interactive event that promises to be anything but your average trip through tables and brochures.

Set for July 17, from 1:30 p.m.-6 p.m., this year’s health fair invites families to embark on an exciting journey filled with educational experiences, hands-on demonstrations, and resources that promote physical, mental, and emotional wellness.

Attendees will explore topics such as healthy eating, physical activity, developmental milestones, child safety, mental wellness and local learning adventures. The event is designed to spark curiosity and encourage lifelong healthy habits in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.

“This is not your ordinary health fair,” Michele Connelly, Executive Director at United Way of West Central Mississippi, said. “It’s an adventure that helps families connect with their community, build wellness habits, and have a blast while doing it.”

Event highlights include:

  • Stop, Drop and Roll demonstration from the Vicksburg Fire Department
  • Cooking demonstrations led by local culinary educator Ali Hopson
  • Grace Christian Counseling Center will demonstrate Calming techniques for families and children
  • Move to Learn session with fan-favorite Coach Calhoun
  • Live discussion with Dr. John Damon of Canopy Children’s Solutions – with childcare provided during the session
  • A special feature this year: the “Wonder of Wellness” exhibit from the Mississippi Children’s Museum

Early educators in attendance will also have the opportunity to earn contact hours.

The health fair is presented in partnership with United Way of West Central Mississippi, the Warren County – Vicksburg Public Library, Grace Christian Counseling, Excel by 5 Coalition, and the Vicksburg Warren School District.

Admission is free, and all are encouraged to attend. For more information, contact Michele Connelly, at 601-636-1733.
