Lauren Gibbs crowned VJHS Homecoming Queen
Lauren Gibbs has been crowned the 2026 Homecoming Queen at Vicksburg Junior High School during a football game halftime ceremony. Active in sports and organizations, Gibbs expressed her excitement about achieving this title after a successful campaign.
Lauren Gibbs has been crowned the 2026 Homecoming Queen at Vicksburg Junior High School.
Gibbs was officially crowned Tuesday by VJHS Principal Justin Watkins during halftime of the school’s football game.
“I feel amazing,” Gibbs said. “I feel like I outdid myself with campaigning and getting this title.”
Gibbs first learned she had been selected as homecoming queen the previous Friday when the announcement was made over the school’s intercom. She was escorted by Mr. Homecoming Kaleb Sim who starred in the football game.
Along with earning the homecoming crown, Gibbs is active in several organizations and sports at VJHS. She participates in cheerleading, volleyball and track and is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She also serves as a junior ambassador.
Lauren is the daughter of Dewayne Gibbs and Latonya Brown.
