St. Aloysius dominates Jackson Victors with 21-hit performance

MADISON, Miss. (VDN) — St. Aloysius racked up 21 hits and rolled to a 15-1 win over the Jackson Victors on Tuesday night. The victory pushed the Lady Flashes’ record to 4-2 on the season.

St. Al jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning. Madison Spencer started the scoring with an RBI single, followed by Ruthie Britton’s two-run home run — her third one in three games. Lynlee McMillin capped the inning with a two-run single.

“We played really good and everyone did amazing,” Britton said. “The home run was definitely unexpected but I’m so proud of myself for getting three in a row because that doesn’t happen a lot in Warren County.”

Madelyn Kavanaugh added an RBI in the second to extend the lead to 6-1. Megan Theriot hit a two-run double in the third, and Analeigh Herring delivered an RBI single in the fourth to make it 10-1.

In the fifth, Kennadi Blassingame hit a two-run triple, Addy Lyons drove in a run with a single, and Spencer added an RBI double to complete the scoring.

Britton went 4-for-4 with two RBIs. Mallory Spencer and Theriot (two RBls) each had three hits, while Lyons (one RBI), Blassingame (two RBIs), Madison Spencer (three RBis), and Kavanaugh (one RBI) each had two hits. Presley Brister, Herring (one RBI), and McMillin (two RBIs) had one hit apiece.

The St. Al Junior High team won 6-2. Herring, Lyons, E Kavanaugh, and S Couch each hit doubles. McSherry and Connelly each had two hits while Bella Barnett and Joy Dement each had a single. Usry hit an RBI.

Dement struck out five batters.

The Lady Flashes will host their tournament on Saturday.
