Theriot surpasses 100 career hits

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Junior softball standout Megan Theriot has now surpassed 100 career hits. Theriot officially reached the milestone in her career on August 26 at Riverfield Academy where she hit three doubles in her team’s 12-8 win. She now sits with a total of 110 career hits.
“It honestly feels better than hitting a home run,” Theriot said. “All of the hard work I’ve put in is showing and I’m gonna keep working.”
Before the start of the 2025 season, Theriot had 81 career hits. After putting in some major work, she is now leading the Lady Flashes in batting with a .518 average. Most recently, Theriot has been on fire when she steps up to the plate. Her most notable performance is when she went 5 for 5 at the plate along with securing two RBIs in the team’s 17-7 victory over Riverfield Academy.
Although hitting a softball doesn’t come as a surprise to her, Theriot is still full of excitement from her recent achievement.
“This makes me feel really accomplished because that’s a lot of hits but I’m ready to set more goals for myself and keep hitting,” Theriot added.
Now that Theriot is hitting at her best, she mentioned that she plans on continuing to lead her team as they are currently fighting for the No. 1 spot in the district.
The Lady Flashes will be back in action tonight when they host Central Hinds.
