VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Porter’s Chapel Academy celebrated homecoming with a dominant 42-8 victory over Franklin Academy on Friday night.

Standout wide receiver Tommy Nelson powered the Eagles’ offense, scoring three touchdowns in the first half. Nelson hauled in a 70-yard and a 35-yard touchdown pass that were both thrown from quarterback Chad Fuson and added a 32-yard touchdown run as Porter’s Chapel built a 28-0 halftime lead. Nelson finished with 160 receiving yards.

In the second half, Lakelan Pecanty broke free for a 22-yard scoring run, while Myles Randle added touchdowns from 10 and 61 yards to seal the win.

The defense also shined. Corvin Finch and Auston Moore each posted six tackles and two sacks. Clayton McClure had five tackles and a sack, while Pecanty contributed four tackles. Grayson Price, Landon Fuson and Cade Cantin each recorded a sack.

In the last two games, PCA has only allowed six points in both of those matches. The Eagles won 46-6 last Friday when they went on the road to defeat Riverdale Academy. Tonight’s win put PCA back at a .500 record going into next week where they will have another big game.

The Eagles (3-3) have won two straight and will travel to face Tallulah Academy next Friday.
