St. Aloysius Junior High girls, WC freshman boys earn impressive wins

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — St. Aloysius Junior High girls and the Warren Central freshman boys each picked up key victories this week, highlighted by strong individual performances and timely scoring.

The St. Aloysius junior high girls earned a 33–17 win over Humphreys Academy, controlling the game from the opening tip. Kennadi Blassingame led the Lady Flashes with 13 points, setting the tone offensively. Kelci Bingham followed with 10 points, delivering consistent production throughout the night. LaniMarie Thurman added 5 points, while Joy Dement scored 3 points and Reese Lyons contributed 2 points as St. Al put together a balanced and efficient performance.

On the boys’ side, the Warren Central freshman team improved to 15–0 after claiming a 48–40 victory over Brandon. The Vikings trailed for most of the game before Jarrad Williams buried a crucial 3-pointer late in the second quarter to give Warren Central its first lead. Ja’Ven Lee finished with 12 points, while Jordan Taylor posted 11 points and 3 blocks in a dominant two-way effort. Williams added 10 points, matching Braylen Selvy, who also scored 10. Cameron Zellous and Doss Morgan each had 2 points, and Jordan Younger added 1 point to help the Vikings stay unbeaten this season.
