Missy Gators claim their fifth straight region title

On the track, Amiyah Hall delivered a standout performance, winning both the 100 meters in 11.62 seconds and the 200 meters in 25.58 seconds. Hall also teamed with Nakia Jeffers, Raylyn Parson and To’nia Taylor to win the 4×200-meter relay in 1:49.56. Vicksburg also received key points in the sprint hurdles, where Xhiareia Darensbourg finished second in the 100-meter hurdles and Rocsi Stewart placed second in the 300-meter hurdles.

In the field events, Zion Knox continued her strong postseason run with two first-place finishes, winning the triple jump at 36 feet, 4.5 inches and the long jump at 17 feet, 1/2 inch. Knox also added a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing 4-10, just behind teammate Makynzie Edmond, who won the event at 5 feet even.

Distance events also contributed to the Missy Gators’ total, with Allie Danyel Smith finishing second in both the 1,600 and 3,200 meters.
