Alcorn State Cheerleading announces 2026-27 leadership team
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — The Alcorn State University cheerleading program has announced its 2026-27 leadership team, highlighting a group of student-athletes selected for their leadership, dedication and commitment to excellence.
Tynia Killingsworth, a rising senior from Stonecrest, Georgia, was named head captain. She has been recognized for her leadership, character and commitment to the program.
Co-captains include Kadajai Allen and Kei’Mya Walton, both rising juniors from Vicksburg, Mississippi, and Mackenzkie Shumaker, a rising senior from Starkville, Mississippi. The trio earned their roles through performance, leadership and their ability to motivate teammates.
James Goodwin, a rising junior from Wesson, Mississippi, was selected as boys captain.
Head coach Timothy Queen said he is confident in the group’s ability to lead both on and off the sidelines.
“This group represents the heart of our program,” Queen said. “Their work ethic, discipline and passion will help set the standard for the upcoming season.”
The leadership team is expected to play a key role in fostering team unity, mentoring younger members and continuing the program’s tradition of excellence.
