St. Aloysius celebrated Coach Mike Foley’s 70th birthday with an 11-7 win over Jackson Victors. The Lady Flashes showcased strong offensive play and solid pitching, highlighting their growth as a team despite recent challenges.

St. Aloysius gave head coach Mike Foley a memorable 70th birthday present Tuesday as the Lady Flashes picked up an 11-7 victory over Jackson Victors.
After battling through some tough games recently, St. Aloysius found its rhythm offensively and held off a late push by Jackson Victors to secure the win.
“I appreciate every win we get because we’re playing younger girls and they’re continuing to get better,” Foley said. “We’re getting healthier but we got some things to work on but overall it was a good ballgame.”
The Lady Flashes jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Megan Theriot scored on a passed ball before Lynlee McMillin delivered an RBI single.
Jackson Victors responded with one run in the second inning, but St. Aloysius added to its lead in the third.
Mercy Moore scored on an error, and Presley Brister followed with an RBI triple. Presley Carr also drove in a run.
Jackson Victors answered with a double and two singles to cut the Lady Flashes’ lead to 5-4 in the third. Theriot responded with an RBI single to give St. Aloysius a 6-4 advantage at the end of the inning.
Madison Connelly doubled home a run in the fourth, and Moore added an RBI single as the Lady Flashes increased their lead to 8-4.
St. Aloysius continued producing at the plate in the fifth. Brister drove in another run, Joy Dement connected for an RBI triple and McMillin added an RBI single to put the Lady Flashes ahead 11-5.
Jackson Victors took advantage of St. Aloysius errors in the sixth inning to cut into the lead. Scarlet Coutch also hit a triple as the Lady Flashes carried an 11-7 advantage into the seventh.
Theriot helped put the finishing touch on the victory when she made a diving catch for the final out.
Moore and Theriot each finished with two hits and one RBI. McMillin went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
Coutch, Connelly, Dement and Brister each recorded one hit. Connelly and Dement each drove in one run.
Dement also delivered a strong performance in the circle, striking out eight batters as the Lady Flashes secured the birthday victory for Foley.
