PCA, St. Aloysius softball teams suffer home losses
Porter’s Chapel Academy and St. Aloysius both faced defeats at home in softball games, with PCA losing 13-6 to Madison St. Joe and St. Aloysius falling 20-3 to Prairie View Academy. Both teams will host Jackson Victors next.
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) —
Porter’s Chapel Academy and St. Aloysius both suffered home losses Monday, with the Lady Eagles falling 13-6 to Madison St. Joe and the Lady Flashes dropping a 20-3 decision to Prairie View Academy.
PCA battled throughout the night before Madison St. Joe pulled away late.
Coley Potter put the Lady Eagles on the board with an RBI single in the second inning. The Lady Bruins responded with four runs in the third before Marleigh Clark added an RBI single for PCA in the bottom half of the inning.
Lauren Rae Davis later scored on a passed ball to help the Lady Eagles cut into the deficit.
Davis delivered PCA’s biggest hit of the night in the sixth inning when she drove in three runs with a triple. Madison St. Joe, however, added five runs in the seventh inning to put the game away.
Davis led PCA at the plate by going 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs. Clark finished with two hits and one RBI, while Potter and Marley Busby each had two hits.
Brooklynn Nicholson, Mia Abdo and Raedon Busby each added one hit for the Lady Eagles.
PCA will host Jackson Victors on Thursday.
St. Aloysius falls to Prairie View Academy
St. Aloysius collected seven hits but suffered a 20-3 loss to Prairie View Academy.
Presley Carr and Presley Brister led the Lady Flashes with two hits and one RBI apiece.
Madison Connelly finished with one hit and one RBI, while Lynlee McMillin also recorded one hit. Megan Theriot added a double in the loss.
The Lady Flashes will return to action Tuesday when they host Jackson Victors.
