Missy Gators secure three-set sweep over Port Gibson

Vicksburg High School’s volleyball team, the Missy Gators, achieved their second consecutive win with a three-set sweep over Port Gibson, winning 25-17, 25-17, and 25-14. Zaria Jones led defensively with 17 digs and 10 points.

Vicksburg High School’s volleyball team picked up its second consecutive win with a three-set sweep of Port Gibson at home.

The Missy Gators controlled the match throughout, winning 25-17, 25-17 and 25-14.

Zaria Jones led Vicksburg defensively with 17 digs while also contributing 10 points. Jermaria Wright led the team with 15 points, and Layla Johnson finished with 13 digs.

Divine Tulloch recorded 10 points and 13 digs, while Kenley Henderson added 10 points and 12 digs. Zipporah Drake contributed nine points and 11 digs, and Alaina Williams finished with eight points and 12 digs.

Harmony Harris recorded nine points and eight digs. Nykeria Watson added two points and three digs, while Madisyn Kimble finished with two points and one dig.

The win marked the second straight victory for the Missy Gators.

Junior varsity

Vicksburg’s junior varsity team fell to Port Gibson in two sets, 25-22 and 25-19.
