VWSD Board members recognize students for achievements

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — At the monthly Vicksburg Warren School District Board meeting held Thursday, April 30, a number of students were recognized for their achievements. 

The three students from the district who made it to the state level spelling bee were honored. Additionally, in partnership with Ergon, students receiving special scholarships were gifted their rewards.

The Board also recognized the three powerlifting students from Vicksburg High School who received State Championship titles, and the State Championship Tennis Team from Warren Central High School. 

Also on hand in the packed house were local students from across the district who participated in the entrepreneur program, some of whom already had their own businesses. 

VWSD President Jim Stirgus commented, “We have a lot of talented students and maybe we’ll get some positive news about them.”
