Willie Moore Jr. 2003-2026

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Willie Moore, Jr., a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, passed away on May 8, 2026, leaving behind a legacy marked by love, dedication, and an adventurous spirit. Born on December 2, 2003, Willie was the oldest of four children, a role he embraced with pride and responsibility from a young age.
Willie’s journey began in Vicksburg, MS, where he graduated from Vicksburg High School in 2022. Following his graduation, he pursued a career as an auto and motorcycle mechanic, a profession that perfectly aligned with his passion for motorcycles. His skill and enthusiasm for all things mechanical were a source of admiration among family and friends alike, reflecting a man who found joy and purpose in his work.
Beyond his professional achievements, Willie was a devoted father to his cherished daughter, Shantasia Rosary “Shay” Shorter (Moore) of Vicksburg, MS. His love for Shay was evident to all who knew them, a bond that remains a testament to his enduring spirit and commitment to family.
Willie’s family extends to his loving parents, Sherry Promise and Willie Moore, who survive him with heavy hearts. He is also deeply missed by his three brothers—Shervon Moore, Keywon Moore, and Izaiah Promise—all of Vicksburg, MS. His family circle is further expanded by three aunts and four uncles, along with a host of other relatives and friends who hold his memory close.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lucius Jackson, Jr., and Jesse Moore, Sr., whose legacies live on in the values Willie embodied throughout his life.
A visitation to honor Willie’s memory will be held on May 22, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the C J Williams Mortuary Center, located at 1625 Monroe Street, Vicksburg, MS 39180. Following this, a Celebration of Life will take place on May 23, 2026,2:00 PM at the same location, providing a time for family, friends, and all who knew Willie to come together and celebrate the vibrant life he led.
Willie Moore, Jr. was a spirit who touched many hearts, a man whose passion for life was as fierce as his love for motorcycles. Though his time with us was too brief, the imprint he leaves behind is indelible—a beautiful tapestry of memories, love, and strength that family and friends will cherish forever. May his soul find peace, and may his legacy be a beacon of hope and resilience for all who knew him.
