Catherine Lomax Jobe 1956-2026

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — 

Catherine Lomax Jobe, 70, of Cary, passed away peacefully Monday, June 8, 2026, at Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, surrounded by family.

She was born February 17, 1956, in Vicksburg to Henry Jewel Lomax and Loyce Avant Lomax. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her partner, Gerald Brown of Cary; sons, Wayne Jobe (Brandy) of Leland, Kenny Jobe (Katrina) of Sunflower and Tommy Jobe (Paula) of Richland; two bonus children, Tabitha Hood of Pearl and Jason Hood of Greenville; brother, Henry Lomax (Sherry) of Cary; and six grandchildren, Cole, Kennedi, Kyle, Landon, Avery and Liam Jobe.

A visitation will be held Friday, June 12 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Cary, with funeral services at 11 at the church. Rev. Matthew Morgan will officiate. Burial will follow at Hollandale Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in her honor to Shriners, St. Jude, Children’s of Mississippi, or any animal shelter.
