City Cinema Vicksburg is set to open its doors next weekend after receiving its health permit and preparing to begin showing films.

The theater announced Friday that they are moving forward with opening their doors as a few more updates are still in progress.

“We were issued our health permit today,” the company said in a post. “The HVAC work did get pushed back slightly but is beginning and should only take a few days.”

The theater has not yet announced its full movie lineup, but officials confirmed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be among the films shown during the opening weekend.

City Cinema Vicksburg is also working to update its point-of-sale system to offer reserved seating both at the box office and through online ticketing.

“We are making some changes in our point-of-sale system to accommodate reserved seating both at the counter and through our online ticketing, which hopefully will be ready next week,” the company said. “But if not, it will just be old-school general admission at the counter the first week before the reserved stuff goes live the following week.”

Additional updates regarding films and showtimes are expected before the official opening date.

“So yay, good news, we will see you next week,” the company said.

City Cinema Vicksburg will be located inside the Vicksburg Mall on Pemberton Boulevard.
