Tawina Dotson files for District 4 school board seat

Tawina Dotson has officially filed to run for the District 4 seat on the Vicksburg Warren School District Board of Trustees, challenging incumbent Linda Patterson.

Tawina Dotson has filed to run for the Vicksburg Warren School District Board of Trustees in District 4.

Dotson will challenge current District 4 trustee Linda Patterson, who is running for reelection.

Dotson previously served on the VWSD Board of Trustees after being appointed in 2024 when the District 4 seat became vacant. She later lost a special election to Patterson that year.

A native of Port Gibson, Dotson has served as an internal review auditor with the 412th Theater Engineer Command, according to previous reports. She is also a member of the U.S. Army Reserve with the 412th, where she serves as a human resources sergeant.

Dotson holds a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Jackson State University.
