Alderman Mayfield gives three AMAZE Awards

VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — City of Vicksburg Ward 1 Alderman Thomas “TJ” Mayfield gave out three AMAZE awards at the Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting held Monday, Sept. 21.
Alderman Mayfield developed the program in memory of his father, the late Alderman Michael Mayfield, Sr.
The awards were given to local students recognizing their outstanding achievements.
I’Reali Wells-Miles received one of the awards in recognition of his zeal and excellence for academic growth and behavior growth.
Cameron Pickett received the award for zeal and excellence for outstanding leadership and character.
The Alderman also gave the award to the St. Aloysius Flashettes for outstanding achievement in dance and school spirit. The Flashettes won the MAIS Spirit Competition and won their 12th consecutive state championship.
