Amyiah Montgomery named Alcorn’s Cheerleader of the Week
Vicksburg native Amyiah Montgomery has been named Cheerleader of the Week at Alcorn State University following the Braves’ recent football victory. Montgomery, a Warren Central High School graduate, is recognized for her dedication to the cheerleading program.

Vicksburg native Amyiah Montgomery has been named Cheerleader of the Week at Alcorn State University.
The Alcorn State cheerleading program announced the honor Sunday, one day after the Braves’ football team defeated Texas Southern University in overtime.
“We’re proud of your hard work, dedication, and commitment to the Alcorn State University Cheerleading program,” the post read. “Keep shining and setting the standard.”
Montgomery is in her second year with the Alcorn State cheerleading program. She is a 2025 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was an All-American Cheerleader, cheer captain and prom queen.
During her first season at Alcorn State, Montgomery received the cheerleading program’s Most Improved Award.
Montgomery competes under the leadership of head coach Timothy Queen and assistant coach Kala Blanton.
