Alderman TJ Mayfield announces STEAM Family Day at MCity June 21
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — Alderman TJ Mayfield invites families from across Vicksburg and surrounding areas to come together for an exciting day of discovery and inspiration at STEAM Family Day, held at MCity on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This exciting event will celebrate the importance of STEAM—Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics—in youth development, education, and innovation. Hosted in honor of Artificial Intelligence month, this event will include hands-on activities, interactive exhibits, live demonstrations, and engaging opportunities for all ages to explore the intersection of creativity and critical thinking.
“STEAM education is the foundation of a future-ready community,” said Alderman TJ Mayfield. “This event is about inspiring our youth and families to dream bigger, explore new fields, and build together. Our partnership with the Vicksburg Warren Youth Development Center, Bean Path, and MCity is a powerful example of what can happen when we invest in young minds. Together, we’re creating opportunities that not only educate but empower the next generation of leaders and innovators.”
Admission is $5 per person, with all proceeds going to Been Path, and registration is now open at getbean.info/steamday.
